Sidcup on alert! Police have slapped a Section 35 Dispersal Order on the area after reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) from large groups raising havoc.

Dispersal Order Details

The order, signed off by Acting Inspector West, kicks in at 4:30 PM on March 1 and runs until 4:30 AM on March 2, 2025.

What Police Can Do Under Section 35

  • Order individuals or groups to leave the area if they’re suspected of causing harassment, alarm, or distress.
  • Ban troublemakers from returning for up to 48 hours to curb ASB.
  • Use enforcement measures, including arrests, against those who refuse to comply.

Why the Crackdown?

The Metropolitan Police imposed this temporary measure amid mounting concerns about large groups gathering and stirring trouble in Sidcup. Extra patrols will be out in force to keep the peace and protect the public.

Police Speak Out

“We are responding to concerns from the community about anti-social behaviour and want to reassure residents that we are taking action to address the issue,” said a local policing team spokesperson. “The dispersal order allows us to prevent incidents before they escalate and ensures that Sidcup remains a safe place for everyone.”
