Driver Trapped as Pickup Rolls Over on Busy Kent Roundabout

Emergency crews scrambled after a pickup truck flipped on the A249 Stockbury roundabout near M2 Junction 5 in Kent on Tuesday evening.

Rescue Mission Launched at 6.30pm

Police, two fire crews, paramedics, Kent Air Ambulance, and Highways officers rushed to the scene shortly after 6.30pm. The Kent Air Ambulance touched down in a nearby field to assist.

Firefighters Use Saw to Free Trapped Driver

Firefighters from Kent Fire and Rescue battled to rescue the driver of the Ford Transit tipper that had come to rest on its side. Using an electric reciprocating saw and spreaders, they removed the windscreen and cut the roof to free the driver.

Concrete Spill Cleanup Underway

South East Coast ambulance paramedics took over care of the driver once freed. Meanwhile, contractors hired by Highways England are cleaning up concrete spilled across the road. A single lane remains closed as the operation continues.
