Major Works Underway on UK’s Busiest Motorway
The shutdown is part of a mammoth £317 million upgrade. Plans include demolishing an old bridge and installing a shiny new gantry to boost lanes and ease traffic at Junction 10, notorious as one of the country’s most chaotic and dangerous splicing points.
National Highways, the government body behind the upgrade, says the improvements aim to slash congestion and improve safety on this beast of a motorway.
Massive Disruption Incoming – 200,000 Vehicles Affected
This is the M25’s first ever full daytime closure. It will impact more than 200,000 vehicles, including those heading to London, Heathrow, Gatwick, and the Channel ports. Weekend traffic here ranges from 4,000 to 6,000 cars per hour each way. Expect snarled jams and mega delays.
