Firefighters Rush to Snodhurst Avenue Bungalow Blaze

Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a fire in a rear bedroom of a bungalow on Snodhurst Avenue, Chatham. Thankfully, everyone inside evacuated safely with no reported injuries.

Red Cross volunteers were on hand to provide welfare support. Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, tackled the flames using a hose reel jet. They then cleared the smoke with a large ventilation fan.

Clothes Left Too Close to Heater Sparked Blaze

The fire was accidental, believed to have started from drying clothes too close to an electric heater. Fire crews warn against this risky habit and urge households to find safer ways to dry clothes.
