Deliveroo cyclist hits young girl and bolts – but cops nab him thanks to quick-thinking local!

Hit-and-Run Horror in Ealing

Last summer, chaos unfolded just 100 metres from a local’s home in Ealing. A Deliveroo rider, riding on the wrong side of the road, smashed into a young girl crossing the street. The girl was left injured on the road as the cyclist sped off, vanishing into the crowd.

Resident’s Daring Move Cracks Case

Despite strict Ealing police restrictions, one determined resident sprang into action. Snapping crucial footage of the offending rider and his bike, they handed over the evidence, leading cops straight to the hit-and-run suspect.

“I was just doing my civic duty in my local community like any decent person would,” the hero explained.

Police Zero In on Deliveroo Cyclist

Thanks to the footage, police swiftly tracked down the cyclist and launched an investigation into the shocking incident.

However, the resident raised eyebrows by highlighting what they call “unfair” restrictions placed on them by Ealing Police. They slammed the rules for being downright “absurd,” especially since their actions helped solve the case.

Storm Over Community Protection Notices

Community Protection Notices (CPNs) are civil orders designed to stop behaviour deemed harmful to communities. But critics argue that stiff CPN rules sometimes block citizens from helping police catch offenders. This latest case has sparked fresh debate about whether these orders do more harm than good.

It’s still unclear if the resident who broke their CPN by filming the rider will face any penalties.
