Fire broke out on the M2 Londonbound between Junctions 2 and 3 in the early hours of Sunday, 18 May 2025. Kent Police moved fast to secure the area, temporarily shutting two lanes of the M2 to protect emergency workers and drivers. The incident caused some delays but was fully cleared by 8:56am, allowing traffic to resume smoothly.
