Missing Man Sparks Massive East Preston Beach Rescue
A desperate search is underway after Alexander, a 50-year-old man from Sheffield, vanished near East Preston beach. Sussex Police issued an urgent appeal today, fearing for his safety.
Emergency Teams Scour Beach and Sea
Alexander was last seen near East Preston beach earlier this afternoon. Authorities sprang into action after finding his car abandoned on the sand. Sussex Police teamed up with HM Coastguard and local lifeboat crews to launch a full-scale rescue operation.
“We received a request for help from Sussex Police just after 2:10pm today,” said a spokesperson from HM Coastguard. “A coastguard helicopter, Littlehampton Coastguard Rescue Team, and Shoreham RNLI Lifeboat are all involved in the search.”
The man is described as 5’10”, wearing baggy clothes and a hat. Police have confirmed the abandoned vehicle is linked to the search. The operation continues into the evening as worry grows over Alexander’s wellbeing.
