Emergency Drama in Brighton as Man Climbs Scaffolding

Eastern Road near the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton has been shut tight in both directions. Why? Emergency crews are tackling a tense situation involving a man scaling scaffolding on a building.

Road Closure Sparks Chaos

Police have closed Eastern Road between Paston Place and Sudley Place. Authorities are urging drivers and pedestrians to steer clear as they work to defuse the situation. Sussex Police confirmed:

“Officers are currently responding to a report of a man scaling scaffolding around a building in Eastern Road, Brighton. The road is currently closed in both directions between Paston Place and Sudley Place. Drivers and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area at this time.”

At this stage, there’s no information on why the man is climbing or what he intends to do. Emergency teams remain on site, focused on a safe resolution.
