Emergency Landing After Loganair Flight Declares Mayday
A Loganair flight from Southampton to Edinburgh was forced into an emergency landing after the pilot declared a serious in-flight incident.
Pilot Sends Out Distress Code
The plane transmitted the emergency 7700 code mid-air, signalling a critical problem on board. To reduce weight, the jet circled over the Isle of Wight, dumping fuel before touching down safely.
Touchdown at Bournemouth Airport
Instead of continuing to Edinburgh, the flight diverted and carried out a controlled emergency landing at Bournemouth Airport. Passengers and crew are reportedly safe.
