Two Trains Collide 42 Metres Underground in Thames Tideway Tunnel

Emergency services rushed to a dramatic crash deep underground after two trains collided in the Thames Tideway Tunnel on Friday night.

The crash happened just after 11.20pm near Canham Road, Acton, a staggering 42 metres below the surface.

One Trapped and Injured in Tunnel Crash

Paramedics from the Hazardous Area Response Team and crews from the London Fire Brigade sprang into action. One person is understood to be injured and trapped roughly 40 metres inside the tunnel.

Firefighters are currently battling to reach and rescue the trapped victim, who remains underground.

The London Fire Brigade has been approached for comment as the rescue operation continues.
