Emergency Services Launch Dramatic Search After Welfare Concern in Folkestone

Coastguard and Lifeboat Join Forces in Search

Two Coastguard Rescue teams from Dover and Folkestone, alongside Dover’s all-weather lifeboat crew, scrambled to assist Kent Police on Sunday. The mission? To find a man whose welfare had been seriously questioned by a worried relative.

The alert came just after 10am, when officers were called to Sunny Sands, Folkestone. Police quickly roped in the coastguard for a thorough shoreline sweep of the rocky bay. Meanwhile, the lifeboat, which was out on a training run, was redirected to scour the pier, the Leas, and nearby areas.

Two-Hour Search Ends with Relief

The coordinated search lasted around two hours, keeping emergency teams on high alert. In the end, the man was found safe and well — back at home, putting everyone’s minds at ease.

Police Awaited for Official Statement

Kent Police have been approached for comment but have yet to release an official statement on the incident.
