Emergency crews rushed to Dublin Airport after 12 people were injured on board a Qatar Airways flight that experienced violent turbulence mid-air. The drama unfolded on Sunday, 26 May 2024, at around 2:22pm.
Flight QR017 From Doha Makes Safe Landing
Flight QR017, en route from Doha to Dublin, was hit by sudden severe turbulence while flying over Turkey. Six passengers and six crew members suffered injuries during the bumpy ride.
Graeme McQueen, Media Relations Manager at Dublin Airport Authority (DAA), confirmed: “Qatar Airways flight QR017 landed safely as scheduled shortly before 1pm on Sunday. Emergency services – including Airport Police and Fire and Rescue – met the plane on arrival due to reports of injuries from turbulence experienced while airborne over Turkey.”
He added: “Our team is providing full assistance to passengers and airline staff on the ground.”
