Exotic Snakes Abandoned to Die in Gosport Undergrowth
The RSPCA is hunting for leads after four exotic snakes were cruelly left to perish in plastic boxes in Gosport, Hampshire.
Snakes Found in Sealed Boxes
A member of the public made the grim discovery on Monday near Mountbatten Close, Bridgemary, spotting two sealed plastic storage boxes hidden in undergrowth. Inside were a python and three boa constrictors – all starving, dehydrated, and without heat for who knows how long.
RSPCA Officer Speaks Out
“The poor snakes were left trapped in clipped-shut boxes with no food, water, or warmth,” said Animal Collection Officer Karen Gregor. “They were found by someone geocaching who immediately contacted us. I rushed them to a specialist vet, but sadly, none survived.
“We don’t know how long they had been there or who dumped them. We urge anyone with information to call us in confidence on 0300 123 8018.
“It’s sickening to think someone simply left these snakes to die. There’s never an excuse for abandoning an animal. If anyone is struggling to cope, please ask for help.”
