Family Rescued After Boat Runs Aground on Eastbourne Coast
Boat Grounded on Rocky Shoal
A family drama unfolded off the Eastbourne coast on Saturday afternoon when their boat ran aground on a rocky shoal just yards from shore.
The UK Coastguard was alerted just after 3:36pm, responding swiftly after the distressed boat’s occupants reported being stuck.
RNLI Lifeboat Crew Launch Rapid Rescue
The volunteer Eastbourne RNLI lifeboat crew raced to the scene. They found the vessel fast aground and immediately evacuated the family to safety.
“The boat was stuck fast on the rocks, so our first priority was getting the family to safety,” an RNLI spokesperson said.
Safe Harbour and Salvage
After securing the family, the lifeboat crew carefully eased the stranded boat off the shoal and towed it back to harbour, keeping all safe and sound.
The quick action prevented what could have been a major maritime mishap.
