Scrap Yard Blaze in Portsmouth Keeps 20 Firefighters Busy

Twenty brave firefighters were scrambled to Tilbury Metals scrapyard in Farlington today after flames erupted just after 3.20pm on Old Reservoir Road.

Multiple Crews Battle Intense Fire

Three fire crews from Cosham and Southsea stations tackled the inferno head-on. The situation escalated with two more appliances and a command and control unit rushing to the scene.

Fire Contained in Under an Hour

The blaze, covering roughly a 5 by 20-metre area, was fully surrounded by firefighters and brought under control by 4.20pm. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Safety First: Ambulance and Police on Site

An ambulance was on standby as a precaution, and police helped manage traffic around the scrapyard to keep the area safe and clear.

Everyone on site was accounted for, ending the drama without harm.
