Blazing Hay Bales Spark Third Call-Out for Isle of Wight Fire Crews

Firefighters from across the Isle of Wight have rushed back to the same farm in East Cowes for the third time to tackle raging hay bale fires.

Flames Rip Through East Cowes Farm

At just before 1pm on Monday, fire crews from Newport, with water carriers from Ventnor, were sent to Folly Lane after hay bales erupted in flames yet again.

Firefighters are battling a roughly 10m by 10m blaze using hose reels to stop the fire spreading further.

Repeat Fire Nightmare for Farm Firefighters

This latest blaze comes after crews worked through the night to douse 30 hay bales that were deliberately set on fire.

The cause of these shocking blazes is still under investigation as fire crews keep a watchful eye on the smouldering farm.
