Kitchen Blaze in Tunbridge Wells Sparks Fire Safety Warning
Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a kitchen fire on Laurel Road, Tunbridge Wells. Firefighters, decked out in breathing gear, tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet. They then used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the property.

After the scare, crews are urging everyone to stay safe in the kitchen:

- Keep your cooker, grill, and oven spotless to prevent grease fires.
- Keep children and pets well clear of cooking areas.
- Install a working smoke alarm on every floor and test it weekly for early fire warnings.
“A clean cooker and working smoke alarms could save lives,” fire chiefs warned.
