Kitchen Blaze in Tunbridge Wells Sparks Fire Safety Warning

Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a kitchen fire on Laurel Road, Tunbridge Wells. Firefighters, decked out in breathing gear, tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet. They then used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the property.

Firefighters Issue Crucial Safety Tips

After the scare, crews are urging everyone to stay safe in the kitchen:

  • Never store or place items on your cooker or stove.
  • Keep your cooker, grill, and oven spotless to prevent grease fires.
  • Keep children and pets well clear of cooking areas.
  • Install a working smoke alarm on every floor and test it weekly for early fire warnings.

“A clean cooker and working smoke alarms could save lives,” fire chiefs warned.
