Heathrow Fire Frenzy: Toxic Fumes Erupt from A320 Aircraft Blaze
Emergency Services Rush to Airport Blaze
Fire crews from Heathrow Airport Fire Service and the London Fire Brigade scrambled to tackle a full emergency at London Heathrow airport early this morning. The alarm was raised just before 9am on December 1 after ground staff spotted a fire.
Electrical Fire Sends Toxic Fumes into Cockpit
The blaze, believed to be electrical in origin, broke out on an A320 plane parked on the ground. It released toxic fumes inside the cockpit, sparking immediate concern for anyone onboard. It remains unclear if passengers were present during the incident.
Firefighters Contain Flames with Foam Blanket
A number of fire engines from both Heathrow’s onsite service and the LFB were quickly deployed to the Western Perimeter Road. Rapid response teams doused the fire with a large foam blanket, steering the blaze away from spreading and extinguishing it swiftly.
Flight Operations Remain Unaffected
Officials report that the fire did not disrupt any arriving or departing flights at the airport. The London Fire Brigade has been contacted for further details as investigations continue.
