Blaze Hits New Cross Shop Basement

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters raced to tackle a blaze in a New Cross shop basement this afternoon.

Fire Damage But No Injuries

The fire damaged part of the basement, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Quick Response From Fire Brigade

The London Fire Brigade was alerted at 2.30pm and had the fire under control by 3.50pm.

Fire crews from New Cross, Old Kent Road, Deptford, Greenwich, and nearby stations battled the flames.

Cause of Fire Still Unknown

Authorities are now investigating what sparked the fire.
