Fire crews from Southsea, Cosham, Portchester, Fareham, and Havant raced to Barkis House in Portsmouth this afternoon after a fire broke out on the third floor external bin chute.

Swift Response Keeps Residents Safe

Teams tackled the blaze using four sets of breathing apparatus, a jet, a hose reel, and positive pressure ventilation to clear the smoke. Thankfully, no one was injured during the fire.

Fire Quickly Brought Under Control

The fire was extinguished shortly after 3pm, preventing further damage to the building.
