Serious House Blaze Ravages Christchurch Home
Three fire crews rushed to a severe house fire on St Margaret’s Avenue, Christchurch, leaving the property badly damaged. The blaze broke out just after 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon, drawing emergency teams from both 1 and New Milton.
Wood Burner Fault Sparks Fierce Fire
Investigations suggest the fire started due to a fault with a wood burner, which quickly ignited the lounge. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and attacked the flames using two hose reel jets and a covering jet, preventing the blaze from spreading further inside the house.
Victims Supported as Firefighters Declare Incident Serious
The occupants are now receiving help from the British Red Cross Fire Victim Support Unit from Springbourne, who also responded to the scene. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
“This was a serious fire causing significant damage inside the property,” said one of the firefighters who attended the scene.
