Police swooped on Sainsbury’s in Pepperhill, Gravesend, at 11:30am on February 5 after reports of stolen booze. They arrested 42-year-old Anthony Bado from Greenwich, London, on the spot.
Following a swift investigation, Bado was charged with theft. He faces Medway Magistrates’ Court on February 6.
Dartford Meat Heist Turns Ugly—Suspect Fights Back
In a separate bust, cops caught 39-year-old Brian Langford near Dartford’s Priory Shopping Centre on February 5. He’s accused of nicking meat from Sainsbury’s the day before.
Langford allegedly damaged a police car and spat at three officers during his arrest. He now faces charges of theft, criminal damage, and assault on an emergency worker.
Both Face Court as Kent Police Clamp Down
Bado and Langford remain in custody ahead of their court appearance at Medway Magistrates’ Court on February 6.
Kent Police continue their crackdown on retail crime, vowing to protect local businesses and punish offenders.
“Shoplifting is not a victimless crime. Retail theft not only affects businesses financially but can also have a significant impact on staff and customers. We remain committed to tackling theft and will take robust action against offenders,” said a Kent Police spokesperson.
