Blaze Tears Through Aldershot Home, Family Left Homeless
A devastating fire ripped through a family home in Aldershot this morning, leaving the owners homeless and their property badly damaged.
Bathroom Blaze Spirals Into Roof Space
The fire broke out just after 8:30am at a three-bedroom house on Sycamore Drive. Crews from Hampshire and Surrey Fire and Rescue raced to the scene after reports of a person trapped inside.
Despite firefighters entering with breathing apparatus and using two hose reels, they couldn’t stop the flames spreading from the bathroom into the roof space. Specialists from Surrey Fire and Rescue are now investigating the cause of the fire.
Family Escapes Thanks to Smoke Alarm
The homeowners, who were in their bedroom at the time, escaped unharmed after a smoke alarm alerted them to danger. Firefighters successfully contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring homes.
Severe Damage Leaves Home Uninhabitable
The upper floor was gutted by the fire, while smoke damage was extensive throughout the property. The family now faces an uncertain future after losing their home overnight.
