East Sussex Fire Rescue raced to the scene at 3:30am on Friday, December 13, tackling a fire in an outbuilding at the abandoned Horns Lodge public house on South Street, South Chailey.

UK Power Networks shut off electricity from 5:10am until mid-morning to carry out urgent repairs and keep workers safe during the incident.
Local Resident Alarmed
“I woke up thinking someone was dumping rubbish or kids smashing tiles again, but then I saw the fire,” said a nearby resident.
