Fire Breaks Out on Roof Terrace of Six-Storey Building

A blaze damaged the roof terrace of a six-storey building today. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Firefighters Battle Propane Cylinder Hazard

Station Commander Stephen-Remell Coleman, at the scene, revealed crews worked swiftly to contain the flames to the roof terrace.

Crews cooled a single 5kg propane cylinder involved in the fire because some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat,” he said.

“The fire generated a lot of smoke, which prompted several calls to our Control Room.”

Road Closures and Multiple Emergency Calls

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) received seven emergency calls about the fire. Local roads were temporarily closed as firefighters tackled the blaze.

Firefighters from Across London Joined Efforts

  • The LFB was called at 10:58am
  • Fire was extinguished by 1:31pm
  • Five fire engines and roughly 35 firefighters responded
  • Crews came from Kensington, Hammersmith, Soho, North Kensington, and Battersea fire stations

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
