Blaze Tears Through Westminster Townhouse

Twelve fire engines and around 80 firefighters rushed to tackle a fierce blaze at a five-story townhouse on Eaton Place, Westminster, this afternoon.

Roof and Flats Devastated by Fire

The fire gutted the roof and completely destroyed flats on the third and fourth floors. Firefighters battled the flames for nearly three hours after receiving 26 emergency calls.

• Fire extinguished by 2:37pm
• Crews from Clapham, Dowgate, Soho, Hammersmith, and others joined the effort

Firefighters remain on site to secure the scene. An investigation into the fire’s cause is now underway.
