West Midlands Cop Charged with Three Counts of Assault
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has given the green light for West Midlands Police officer Declan Jones to face charges. He is accused of common assault against three individuals.
Alleged Incidents from April 2020
The alleged assaults happened between April 20 and April 23, 2020. The CPS said they reached their decision after thoroughly examining evidence from the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
CPS Warns Against Prejudicing the Case
“Criminal proceedings against PC Jones are now active and he has a right to a fair trial,” the CPS stated. “It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”
