Wrestling legend ‘Shooter’ Tony Jones dies aged 53

Former WWE star and All Pro Wrestling (APW) icon Tony “Shooter” Jones has died aged 53. Known for his grit and skill in the ring, Jones was a former APW Universal Heavyweight Champion and beloved figure in the wrestling world.

Jones made waves with WWE appearances in 1998, 2001, 2003, and 2007. Fans and fellow wrestlers admired his stellar performances and deep passion for wrestling. Beyond the spotlight, Jones was a devoted father to his son and his late daughter Selina, whose memory he honoured just this year with a heartfelt tribute.

Tributes pour in after sudden loss

The cause of Jones’ death remains unknown, but tributes have flooded in. APW CEO Markus Mac paid a touching farewell, saying:

“’Shooter,’ Rest in Power. Enjoy paradise with your baby girl. We’ll always love you, brother.”

He added,

“A standout amateur, a stellar pro, a great friend and more important than anything… a five-star father.”
