Gatwick in Lockdown After Suspicious Suitcases Spark Bomb Scare

Chaos erupted at Gatwick Airport tonight after a vehicle drove the wrong way down the perimeter road. The driver abandoned the car, leaving behind two suitcases wired with orange cables, before fleeing into the terminal.

Sussex Police swiftly cordoned off the area and called in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to inspect the suspicious bags. The man was quickly arrested, and a full investigation is now underway.

Officers are directing cars at the drop-off point to reverse and exit via the car park as security measures tighten. Passengers and staff remain on high alert amid the ongoing probe.
