Tragedy in Hyde: Young Man Dies After Domestic Disturbance
On Sunday, 23 April 2023, at around 2.55pm, police were scrambled to a domestic disturbance on Thorsby Avenue, Hyde. Emergency crews found a man in his 20s in critical condition at the scene.
Despite frantic efforts from officers and medics, the young man was sadly pronounced dead.
Two Women Arrested Over Shocking Incident
Police arrested two women, aged 19 and 27, at the property on suspicion of attempted murder. Later that evening, both were re-arrested on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody pending further questioning.
Police Appeal for Information
“Firstly, I would like to pass on my sincere condolences to the victim’s loved ones of this senseless attack,” said DCI Mark Davis of GMP’s Major Incident Team. “Our officers have been and will continue to support the family during this extremely difficult time.”
“We want to reassure the public this is an isolated incident, and there is no wider risk to the community.”
“We urge anyone in Hyde with information about the incident to come forward. Your tips could be crucial to our investigation.”
