British Airways flight BA2272 from New York’s JFK airport faced a nerve-jangling scare this morning when it experienced a deflated tyre mid-flight. The drama forced Gatwick’s main runway to shut for 19 minutes from 7:42 AM.

Flight Lands Safely Despite Scare

A Gatwick Airport spokesperson confirmed: “Gatwick’s main runway was closed for 19 minutes due to a British Airways flight (BA2272) from JFK experiencing a deflated tyre. The runway has since reopened and flights are operating as normal.”
