James Baggott, volunteer coxswain with Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS), has smashed an incredible milestone — 500 HM Coastguard taskings! The local lifesaver has earned huge praise for his tireless dedication to keeping our waters safe.
A Lifetime of Rescues and Hours at Sea
James Baggott’s commitment is nothing short of legendary. Over the years, he’s logged a staggering 3,881 voluntary hours and played a crucial role in 123 life-saving rescues where people’s lives were on the line.
Despite juggling his responsibilities as a local business owner and father of young children, James has consistently answered the call, supporting the Coastguard around the clock to protect the community.
