Fourth Decapitated Cat Found in Portsmouth – But Police Turn Resident Away!

A fourth cat has been found decapitated in Portsmouth, this time dumped in Marmion Road, Southsea. The shocked local who discovered the grisly scene tried to report it to Hampshire Constabulary – only to be told it was a council matter, not police business.

This comes amid a serious Metropolitan Police investigation into the horrific murder and mutilation of over 250 cats across the UK. So far, one confirmed and three possible related incidents have been linked to Portsmouth alone.

Police Play Pass the Buck – Furious Resident Speaks Out

The resident took to Facebook in outrage, posting: “I’ve contacted Hampshire Constabulary to inform them that a cat has been purposely decapitated down Marmion Road. Apparently it’s a council problem, not a police issue!!!

Absolutely unbelievable! What kind of absolute vile c**t does that?!”

Before sending off an angry message to the force, they added: “Just spoke to the guy dealing with the case now. He’s coming down to collect and examine the body tonight. He said the Met Police have looked into it and that Hampshire Constabulary should have acted upon it!

I’m so happy my tax money pays for them to sit there handing out speeding tickets and not trying to catch some obviously deranged individual!! Any boys in blue reading this take note!

This is why no one calls you anymore, because you’re as useful as a chocolate fire guard!”

Police Finally Respond: Investigation Underway

We reached out to Hampshire Constabulary, but their spokeswoman refused to comment on the controversy.

UPDATE (19 April 2017): Hampshire Police have confirmed they received a report about the cat found beheaded in Southsea.

This case is now linked to two other cat killings in their area:

  • Overnight 3-4 April – Atlanta Close, Southsea
  • Overnight 22-23 July 2016 – Avenue Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight

Police believe these incidents may be connected to Operation Takahe, the sprawling investigation by the Met Police into over 250 cat deaths around Croydon and the M25 corridor.

Sergeant Tony Jeacock assured the public: “I would like to reassure the public that we are investigating the incident and following all possible leads.”

He urged: “If anyone is aware of any other cats that have been killed, please call 101.”
