Have you seen Jim? Wallingford pensioner still missing
Thames Valley Police are urgently asking the public to help find 88-year-old James “Jim” Spence from Wallingford. The pensioner vanished after going for a walk in the early hours this morning and has not been seen since.
Where’s Jim? Slim, 6ft walker last seen in Wallingford
Jim is described as a slim, 6ft white man with short grey hair and a tanned complexion. He was last spotted wearing dark formal trousers, a light blue and beige striped shirt, a dark cardigan, and chunky black formal shoes.
Police urge locals to keep their eyes peeled
Inspector Martin Ford, leading the search, said:
“I want to hear from anyone who sees James or someone matching his description. He’s a keen walker who uses bridleways and off-road paths.”
“We’re asking communities in Wallingford, Didcot, Wantage, Blewbury, Aston Tirrold, Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, Benson, Moulesford, Goring, Streatley, North and South Moreton, and Abingdon to stay alert.”
“Jim sometimes catches buses from Benson and might have travelled to Oxford or Reading. Anyone in those areas should also be on the lookout.”
“Given his age and how long he’s been missing, we’re genuinely concerned for his welfare.”
“Please look for Jim in gardens, outbuildings, or out and about, and report any sightings immediately.”
Community searchers join the hunt
Volunteers from Oxfordshire Lowland Search and Rescue are helping police with the extensive search for Jim.
