New Ulez Hits Central London Drivers with £12.50 Charge

Heads up, London motorists! A new ultra-low emission zone (Ulez) kicks in today, meaning more cash from your pockets if you want to drive in central London.

Who’s Paying the Price?

From now on, diesel cars older than four years and petrol wheels over 13 years old face a hefty £12.50 charge every time they enter central London. This fee stacks on top of the existing congestion charge, which is £11.50 during weekdays from 7am to 6pm.

What Vehicles Are Affected?

  • All vehicles except black taxis are on the hook for the Ulez charge.
  • Only cars meeting strict emissions standards or exemptions avoid the fee.

Check Before You Drive

Don’t get caught out! Drivers can easily check if their vehicle is liable by entering the registration on the Transport for London website.

Drive smart or pay up – that’s the new London rule.
