Massive House Blaze in Herne Bay Brought Under Control
A huge fire tore through a property on Grand Drive, Herne Bay, on the evening of Friday, 31 January 2025. Emergency crews scrambled with seven fire engines and specialist vehicles to tackle the inferno.
Firefighters Battle Blaze with Drones and Height Vehicles
Kent Fire and Rescue Service threw everything at the blaze. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used high-pressure hose reels and main jets. A height vehicle and a drone were deployed to get a better grip on the spread. Smoke billowed so heavily, nearby residents were told to keep windows and doors shut. Roads around Grand Drive were closed but have since reopened.
All Clear – No Injuries and Fire Now Under Investigation
By 3am on Saturday, crews remained to douse lingering hot spots, with two engines still on site. Luckily, no one was hurt as residents evacuated before the fire crews arrived. Kent Fire and Rescue confirmed the area is now safe and normal life has resumed.
A building inspector is on scene, with investigations ongoing into what sparked the fire. Authorities urge locals to stay alert and report any info that could help crack the case.
