Man’s Gut-Wrenching Warning: Don’t Ignore These Bowel Cancer Symptoms!
Mark, a 52-year-old bloke battling bowel cancer, is sharing his story to save lives. He’s been through surgery, catheters, visible and hidden scars, and is now finishing six months of gruelling chemotherapy. His message? Spot the signs early or pay a terrible price.
Four GP Visits, Yet Cancer Missed
Back in 2016, Mark felt exhausted and noticed changes in his bowel habits. Despite seeing his GP four times, he was told his low iron levels were nothing serious and to eat more red meat. But the real culprit was his bowel cancer – left to grow unchecked for eight agonising months.
“If my doctor had done a simple CEA blood test or given me a bowel cancer screening kit, my cancer could have been caught earlier,” Mark warns. Instead, he was diagnosed at stage 3, with cancer spreading to his lymph nodes.
The 5 Key Bowel Cancer Symptoms Everyone Must Know
Mark urges everyone to learn the signs. The UK’s Bowel Cancer UK lists five symptoms that you can’t ignore, especially if you spot blood in your poo or on the toilet paper.
“If you have these symptoms, don’t let your GP brush you off. Demand the right tests – CEA blood test, bowel cancer screening, and a colonoscopy,” says Mark. “Being safe beats being sorry.”
One in 14 Men Will Face Bowel Cancer
Mark’s story is a wake-up call. 1 in 14 men and 1 in 19 women will be diagnosed with bowel cancer in their lifetime. Early detection saves lives. Share this post now – it could save yours or a mate’s.
