Island MP Andrew Turner urges Isle of Wight to back ‘Grassroots Out’ campaign for Brexit
On Friday 29th January, Isle of Wight MP Andrew Turner fired up a crowd of 80 at the Conservative Ladies’ Luncheon Club. His message was clear: the UK must reclaim sovereignty from the EU, and the time to act is now.
Once-in-a-lifetime chance to reclaim sovereignty
Speaking passionately, Turner called the EU a “mammoth” problem that needs slaying once and for all. “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to bring back our national sovereignty,” he declared. The Grassroots Out (GO) campaign, which he supports, is a cross-party movement rallying Brits from all sides of politics.
“It’s no secret I’ve been a Eurosceptic all my life, and the tide is turning,” Turner stated. He highlighted the need to overcome political divides to unite for the cause.
Cross-party allies join forces
Turner revealed he recently joined 2,000 supporters at the GO Campaign launch. Present were Conservatives, Labour’s Kate Hoey, UKIP’s Nigel Farage, and Ulster’s Sammy Wilson. Together, they campaign against Brussels’ increasing control and what Turner calls the “utter failure” of the EU, especially amid the migrant crisis.
“We’re fed up with handing over British taxpayers’ money to unelected EU bureaucrats,” he said bluntly. “The real problem isn’t just symptoms like migration; it’s the EU itself.”
Get ready: referendum could come this June
Turner warned the referendum could hit as soon as June and urged islanders to step up. “I want friends and supporters at the heart of the campaign here on the Island. This is a call to arms.”
If you want the UK to be independent, control its own borders, and be a sovereign nation again, Turner urges you to join the fight now. Contact him at [email protected] or sign up at grassrootsout.co.uk/join-us/.
