M20 Chaos: Both Sides Shut After Major Fire Between Junctions 8 and 9
A furious blaze on the London-bound M20 has forced both carriageways to close between junction 8 for Hollingbourne and junction 9 for Ashford.
Firefighters Race to the Scene
Five fire engines and a bulk water carrier rushed to tackle the inferno. Crews donned breathing apparatus and battled the flames with compressed air foam and a powerful hose reel jet.
No Injuries Reported, Cause Unknown
Thankfully, no one was hurt. The cause of the fire remains a mystery. Officials warn the road could stay closed for hours as debris is cleared and the area is made safe.
