At 11:38am on Saturday, May 4th, the Eastbourne All Weather Lifeboat crew aboard the ‘Esme Anderson’ leapt into action. They were scrambled to help a boat that had lost engine power and was drifting dangerously close to Pevensey Shoal.

On arrival, the volunteer Coxswain swiftly assessed the situation. Without hesitation, he ordered the lifeboat to tow the disabled vessel and its crew to safety at nearby Sovereign Harbour. This daring rescue highlights the lifesaving role of the RNLI in keeping our seas safe.
