Longtime Littlehampton Coastguard Boss Richard Morris Steps Down
After more than a decade at the helm, Richard Morris has stepped down as Station Officer at Littlehampton Coastguard. He’s not leaving entirely though — Richard will stay on as a Coastguard Rescue Officer to keep lending his expertise.
Richard Builds Elite Rescue Team
In his 10+ years leading the station, Richard transformed the team through major local and national changes. His strong leadership has created a professional, dependable rescue unit that the community proudly relies on.
“We thank Richard for his dedication, professionalism and leadership over the years,” said Alex Garrod, Senior Coastal Operations Officer for Sussex. “He’ll continue to offer his considerable Search and Rescue expertise to Littlehampton and the Sussex Coast.”
New Leadership Takes Charge
Doug, a team veteran of 12 years, has been named the new Station Officer. Backed by Laurence, he’s ready to steer the team into an exciting new era.
Garrod added: “Station Officers shoulder huge responsibility on top of an already demanding volunteer role. I’m confident the team will go from strength to strength under Doug and Laurence’s leadership.”
