Liverpool Splash £60m on Hungarian Midfield Star Dominik Szoboszlai
Liverpool have pulled off a major coup by signing midfield ace Dominik Szoboszlai from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for a whopping €70 million (£60 million). The Hungarian international has penned a five-year deal to become the Reds’ second big summer buy.
Reds Activate Release Clause After Mac Allister Signing
After snapping up Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton for £35 million, Liverpool triggered Szoboszlai’s release clause to seal the deal. The 22-year-old is set for a work permit and can’t wait to get started at Anfield.
“It’s a really historic club, really good players, good coach. For me, it was perfect to make the next step in a club like this. The fans, the stadium, everything is really good,” said Szoboszlai.
Klopp Welcomes Midfield Boost After Big Departures
Jurgen Klopp hailed the new signing, pointing to Szoboszlai’s threat when playing against Liverpool in the Champions League with RB Salzburg. The German boss sees him as a key part of Liverpool’s present and future midfield, especially after losing James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
“We already have a little knowledge of Dominik as an opponent because we had a couple of really tough games against RB Salzburg when he was a player there, and I think everyone who saw those fixtures will have realised that even at that stage he was a really interesting prospect,” Klopp said.
He added: “This is a signing for our present and also for our future, and the work that has gone into it could not be more appreciated.”
Impressive Track Record and High Hopes
- Two-time German Cup winner with RB Leipzig

Liverpool fans are buzzing, eager to see how Szoboszlai’s flair and experience will bolster the Reds’ midfield race. All eyes will be on Anfield for his official debut.
