M2 Westbound Shut After Serious Crash in Kent
The M2 westbound between Junction 6 (Faversham) and Junction 5 (Sittingbourne) is completely closed following a serious collision.

Kent Police, Kent Fire & Rescue, South East Coast Ambulance Service, and the Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance are all at the crash site. National Highways Traffic Officers are helping manage the chaotic traffic.
Follow the Solid Square Diversion – Here’s the Route
- Exit M2 westbound at Junction 6.
- Take the A251 southbound towards the A252 at Challock.
- At the A252 roundabout, continue west towards Charing and the A20 roundabout.
- Turn right onto the A20 westbound towards maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone and M20 Junction 8.
- Join the M20 westbound to Junction 7.
- Exit at Junction 7 and head along the A249 to M2 Junction 5.
- Re-join the M2 westbound at Junction 5.
Inside the Closure: Turnarounds in Place
Drivers caught inside the closure will be U-turned from the back of the queue at Junction 6 and directed to follow the diversion.
