M2 Crash Closes Westbound Lane Between Junctions 6 and 5
The M2 in Kent is shut westbound from Junction 6 to Junction 5 after a single-vehicle crash just before 1am Monday.
Kent Police and emergency crews rushed to the scene. Specialist collision investigators and Highways England Traffic Officers are still attending.
Major Barrier Damage and Long Delays Expected
The crash caused significant damage to safety barriers. The closure could last for several hours, hitting early morning rush hour hard.
Follow Diversion Signs and Expect Delays
- Exit M2 at Junction 6.
- Take A251 southbound towards A252 in Challock.
- Turn west onto A252 towards Charing.
- Join A20 westbound to Maidstone and M20 Junction 8.
- Follow M20 to Junction 7, exit and take A249 northbound.
- Re-join M2 at Junction 5.
Drivers are urged to follow solid square diversion signs and allow extra travel time.
