Blaze Ravages Top Floor of South East London Tower Block
A massive fire has ripped through the eighth floor of a residential building at Deepdene Point, Dacres Road, South East London. The inferno erupted around 3:40pm on Tuesday, August 20, sending thick, acrid black smoke billowing miles across the skyline. Eyewitnesses described the flames as fierce and towering.
Seventy Firefighters Battle Fierce Flames
The London Fire Brigade unleashed a huge response, sending around seventy firefighters and ten fire engines to tackle the blaze. Specialist equipment was also deployed to support the operation. Emergency teams included the London Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), an ambulance crew, an officer, and a rapid response paramedic.
