Massive blaze rips through Watford Way in Mill Hill, sparking a huge emergency operation by the London Fire Brigade (LFB).
Inferno Engulfs Shops and Flats
At least ten fire engines and 70 firefighters are battling a fierce fire tearing through a row of commercial properties with residential flats above. Flames have caused chaos, with crews struggling into the early hours to get the blaze under control.
A 32-metre ladder was deployed, helping firefighters tackle the towering flames from above.
Emergency Calls Flood In
The first emergency call came in at 12:46 AM, followed by at least 13 more from alarmed locals. Firefighters from Mill Hill, Hendon, Finchley, and nearby stations rushed to the scene without delay.
Cause Unknown As Firefighters Fight On
The cause of the blaze remains a mystery. Investigations will begin once the fire is fully out.
“Our crews are working tirelessly to contain the fire and prevent further spread. We urge people in the area to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke and to avoid the scene to allow emergency services full access,” said a London Fire Brigade spokesperson.
Road Closures and Health Warnings Issued
Watford Way and surrounding roads have been cordoned off. Emergency services are telling motorists to find alternative routes immediately.
Residents nearby are advised to stay indoors as thick smoke continues to billow from the burning buildings.
