Man Hospitalised After Mental Health Scare Near Premier League HQ

A man was rushed to hospital following a major emergency response outside the Premier League headquarters in Paddington, Central London, late Wednesday night.

Emergency Services Flood Gloucester Place

The drama unfolded around 11pm on Gloucester Place after concerns were raised for a man apparently experiencing a mental health crisis. At least four police vans, seven other police vehicles, and two ambulances swarmed the area in response.

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene, with flashing blue lights and police officers cordoning off the street near the offices of the Premier League and GB News.

Man Found Near Dudley House, Possibly Tried to Enter Premises

The man was located near Dudley House, close to the Premier League building entrance. He was reportedly restrained by police for safety reasons before being assessed by London Ambulance Service paramedics. It is believed he might have tried to gain access to the building, although this hasn’t been confirmed.

No Links to Premier League or GB News

Speculation online suggested the incident was connected to either the Premier League or GB News. Sources from both organisations have dismissed any link to the man or the incident.

Official Statements and Road Closures

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the man was transported to hospital for further mental health support. The road was partially closed during the operation, but no injuries to officers or the public have been reported.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 10.29pm last night (23 April) to reports of a person unwell in North Wharf Road, Paddington. We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer. The patient was treated at the scene and taken to hospital as a priority.”

A full police and ambulance service statement is expected Thursday morning.
