She suffered a dissection of the carotid artery complicated by a clot. Mum underwent a risky operation which saved her life.”
She added: “She’s now doing intense physio to regain movement on her left side. Mum’s amazing progress has inspired us all. We’re so excited to have her home after some incredibly emotional months.”
Lucy, 15, spoke out about the family’s shock: “Strokes were never something we thought would happen in our family. Now we know they can strike anyone, at any age.”
The sisters are cycling 45 miles over ten days to raise cash for the Stroke Association. Their target was £10,000 – but thanks to generous supporters, they’ve smashed it, raising over £12,000 so far.
