Chaos on A20 Ashford Road as HGV Crash Sparks Multiple Casualties
A nasty three-vehicle smash involving a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) brought the busy A20 Ashford Road near Faversham Road to a standstill this afternoon. Emergency services rushed to the scene with multiple casualties needing urgent medical attention.
Air Ambulances and Fire Crews Flood the Scene
Shortly after 3pm on Monday, five ambulances, four fire engines from kent.fire-uk.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and the Kent, Sussex and Surrey ambulance service were deployed. Doctors arrived via air ambulance to treat the injured on site.
Woman Rescued Alongside Babies and Women
Rescuers used extrication tools to free a woman trapped in one of the wrecked vehicles. The same car also held two very young babies and two other women, raising serious concerns about their conditions.
Road Closed, Investigation Underway
Kent Police shut the A20 in both directions and have launched a full investigation into the cause of the crash. Drivers are urged to seek alternative routes while emergency teams work to clear the scene.
