RNLI Lifeboat Scrambles to Yarmouth Harbour Distress Call
The RNLI’s Yarmouth all-weather lifeboat was launched just after 11:20am this morning following a distress call in Yarmouth Harbour. The Needles Coastguard Rescue team was also dispatched to the scene.
Urgent Alert Sparks Rescue Mission
A Maritime and Coastguard Agency spokeswoman confirmed the alarm came via a Digital Selective Calling (DSC) alert from a vessel in the harbour. The distress signal hit the operations centre at 11:27am, triggering an immediate response.
Ongoing Search for Vessel in Trouble
“The Needles Coastguard Rescue team and the Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat have been sent,” the spokeswoman said, adding the incident is ongoing. Rescue teams remain on high alert as they continue their search.
